EWN Team

The EWN Team

Elyria Works Now is a public-private partnership between the City of Elyria and community partners that came about as a result of the City’s participation in the 2017 Mayors Bloomberg Challenge sponsored by the Bloomberg Foundation.  As part of a six-month community dialogue and facilitation process community leaders identified creating better access to higher paying entry level jobs in key industries (starting with manufacturing) as a major goal for the city.

The irony is:  there are many entry-level manufacturing jobs available and going unfilled and, there are many Elyrians that are unemployed or under-employed that are seeking work.  Strategies adopted by Elyria Works Now are designed to create better access to higher paying jobs for individuals who for a number of reasons may not be accessing these jobs.
